Lipman family in Washington DC

Robert David "Bob" Lipman `83, a native Buffalonian and avid Bills fan

It is sadness that we report that the High Road has lost a member of its extended family. Robert David "Bob" Lipman `83, a native Buffalonian and avid Bills fan, passed away from COVID-19 related illness on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the age of 58.

Mr. Lipman is the father of Micaela and Asher Lipman. Micaela was a High Road Fellow herself in 2012 while completing her bachelor’s degree at Cornell University. Since graduation in 2015, she worked in academia and the nonprofit sector to explore creative solutions where food policy, economic equality, and community organizing meet. She returned to Buffalo in 2019 and served with great success as the postgraduate High Road Fellow for the summer program. She is currently a PhD student in the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Buffalo. Asher Lipman is a freshman in the School of Arts and Sciences at Cornell.

Mr. Lipman graduated from Williamsville South High School in 1979, The ILR School at Cornell University in 1983 and University at Buffalo School of Law in 1986. He founded Lipman & Plesur, LLP and lectured and wrote extensively on employment-related matters representing both employers and employees. A full obituary from the Buffalo News can be found here.

About her father, Micaela wrote: “My dad was adventurous, giving, and always worked for what he felt was right. He was the best father and I hope to live up to his legacy.”
